The average salary for a software architect is $175,000 a year, according to an analysis of data from Zillow.
That is higher than the median of $120,000 and slightly below the $140,000 average for other software professionals.
The median salary for software developers is $115,000, according a 2015 study by the consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
Some software developers can earn more than $200,000.
An analysis of the median salaries of the top 10 software companies by market cap shows that some of the biggest spenders are in the top tier of the market.
The largest software companies are Google and Facebook, according the study.
The data shows that many software developers have more than one employer.
“If you’re an entrepreneur, you may be a software developer but you’re also a contractor,” said Zilvane Dube, founder of The Source Code, an app that helps developers build their applications.
“The best way to maximize your career is to get an employer that offers you a great deal of flexibility,” she said.
But if you’re a software engineer who is looking to make a career change, there are some other ways to make money.
Salary increases for developers can be particularly attractive if you are a junior developer.
A senior developer earns about $75,000 annually, according that analysis.
“A senior developer is typically an employee of the company,” Dube said.
“They’re usually the ones who get paid for a certain amount of time.”
Dube and her co-authors analyzed data from The Source Codes website.
She said she has seen senior developers make more than three times as much as junior developers, though she has never seen senior software developers make as much.
Senior developers can also have higher-paying job offers from large companies, and senior developers can work for larger companies with a larger team.
Some of the best-paying software companies include Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, Oracle and SAP.
Dube estimates that in 2017, software developers made about $20 million to $25 million a year.
That’s up from $16 million in 2016, according her analysis.
Dubes and her colleagues said that if you want to get ahead as a software development professional, the first thing to do is learn how to code.
They said you should start by learning a programming language like Python or Ruby.
“It’s a language that is a lot easier to learn than Java,” she explained.
“There are tons of good resources out there.”
Dubes also said you can learn to code in the classroom, though that is not always the case.
“In the classroom it’s always nice to have a computer that is working at the same time,” she added.
“But in the real world you have to be able to read, write and program.”

That means that you can go to a company’s headquarters, and have the team there work on a project.
They then have to get feedback from the developer on the code.
Then the developer gets the software up and running and is paid.
If you are in a senior developer role, you might be in a position to earn more by attending one of the larger software conferences.
But you might not be able afford the conference fee, which is around $3,000 to $5,000 for a weeklong program, according Tokel Halki, a consultant with the firm Aptitude.
The most expensive software conference is Google’s Code Camp.
“At Google, you can attend Code Camp for free,” Halkie said.
There is also a $10,000 conference called SourceCamp for junior developers.

In the past, software engineers were considered a relatively underpaid profession because of the difficulty in finding jobs.
But that changed in the mid-1990s, when the tech boom brought an influx of programmers and engineers who could earn higher salaries.

“That’s when the hiring of programmers really started to accelerate,” Harki said.

Software engineers are also highly valued in tech circles, so a big increase in salary could lead to more software jobs for developers.
